Murcia al Vino
Murcia al Vino is an uncooked, pasteurized goats milk cheese from the Murcia region of Spain. In English it is sometimes called Drunken Goat, since the cheese is dipped in red wine twice during its maturation.
Murcia al Vino has a mild, tangy taste. Its inedible rind has a red color from being dipped in wine. It is a relatively recent cheese, invented by a man named Enric Canut. It was given European PDO status in 2002. Its milk comes from Murciano-Granadina goats. The cheese is aged a minimum of 30 days.
